This distance learning course, delivered in conjunction
with its author and founder of
IBSHelp.org.uk, is aimed at two groups,
hypnotherapists and those that have been trained in guided imagery
techniques. The purpose of the course is to, as accurately as possible,
inform the student about the research supporting the treatment of IBS
through Gut Orientated Metaphor, explain what IBS is and the diagnostic
criteria now used in Primary Care, and to enable the student to be able to
effectively construct sessions and manage the treatment of clients
presenting with a clinical diagnosis of IBS.
Formal assessment is made on the submission of a script of approximately 30
minutes duration that would be used in a Gut Orientated Metaphor session.
Suggested study time is 25 hours. This course is valid for CPD as defined by
the GHR.
Completion of this course will also enable GHR registrants to join the GHR’s
IBS Specialist Register.
Successful completion of the course will qualify that therapist to be listed
on IBSHelp.org.uk’s
website, subject to other professional quality assurance criteria as
detailed on that website and the payment of the minimal annual subscription
cost.
