PROBLEMS WITH E-MAIL?
(All names of ISPs are registered trademarks and are hereby acknowledged.) Glossary:
The increasing use of anti-spam measures has meant that email sent by us from the UK using Tiscali servers is sometimes blocked by a number of services. One of the reasons for this is that spammers, operating illegally, have been forging a return E-mail address using our domain name. Although we have contacted a number of ISPs about the problem it seems that there is little that they can do. We have a strict no spam policy so any suspicious email which looks like it was sent by us definitely was not. Please forward any examples that you may find... contact us. Users often have more control over anti-spam and email-blocking measures than they realise. The problem is not limited to Tiscali. Several other service providers also find that legitimate e-mail sent from their servers can be automatically blocked by other service providers. This effectively means that legitimate e-mail sent to you is sent to a 'spam' folder, which is generally automatically emptied on a regular basis. Once the spam folder has been emptied the e-mails can no longer be recovered. Most users do not know of the existence of this spam folder and so may assume that they have not been sent any e-mails. What can you do? Your anti-spam measures can be configured to allow through legitimate e-mail. As different service providers use different measures and methods you should contact your technical support desk or read the 'spam filter' instructions which are usually provided on-line. We would like to hear from anyone has had problems receiving mail from us, please use our contact us page. We no longer publish our e-mail on the site to prevent it being used by spammers. If you are an AOL customer you can sign up for a Hotmail, Yahoo or Killamail account to send e-mail which AOL might refuse. You can still SEND us your mail no matter what ISP you use. We should normally be able to receive it. What are we doing? Even though our standard email domain for enquiries is health-concern.com, our advisors in the UK mostly send e-mail using Tiscali. If we know that you use AOL or another ISP that refuses to let our e-mail through we will send you mail using another email address which we do not advertise. As a rule we always reply to emails within 48 hours maximum, usually much quicker than that. If you have sent us anything and you haven't had a reply its probable that there is a problem - just call us on 0845 456 9537 (lo call number, you just pay for the cost of a local call). We will be able to provide further assistance once you enrol... |
